James Whittredge I
James Whittredge conceptualized a towing company that could provide superior service to its customers while creating jobs within the community. It has grown from a single truck operation to one with over 50 tow vehicles and 45 employees. Mr. Whittredge specializes in serving as an adviser to his employees and an inclusive mentor to a diverse community of small and growing towing companies. He uses the mentorship he received as a young tow truck operator and fledgling business owner to help others who seek to grow in the industry.
A lifelong resident of Central Ohio, he never ceases to respond to small or large needs within his community. In the course of a typical day on the job, he happened upon and removed a car engulfed in flames from a full parking lot near a high-rise building before fire crews could arrive on scene, resulting in a Columbus Fire Department Award for Distinguished Citizen. Using a similar problem-solving approach, he has analyzed and altered towing practices for special events such as daily rush hour response, street sweeping, and OSU football game day towing.
James Whittredge II
James Whittredge II grew up observing the towing industry. He earned a B.A. in Business Marketing at Capital University in 2011 while working part-time at the family business. He uses his wealth of knowledge from the collective years of close observation, first hand towing, and the influence of many experienced senior colleagues. The sound business practices from his formal and informal education enhance the daily function of Pro-Tow and its effectiveness for its customers.
Mr. Whittredge maintains a rigorous focus on continuous professional development for the leadership of Pro-Tow, its employees, and subcontractors.
